26 Southend - Leigh-on-Sea - Hadleigh - Canvey

Better Queensway work starts 31/10/2025 until at least January 2027. Expect delays in the Southend area during this time. Some services may be curtailed short of their usual terminals to maintain service reliability.

Better Queensway work starts 31/10/2025 until at least January 2027. As part of this, the Queensway Underpass will be PERMANENTLY CLOSED after 08/12/2025, with the northern slip roads closed (except for access from Short Street) until at least January 2027. Work on the Porters Grange Roundabout (above Queensway) will also start around this time. Expect delays on all of these routes.

Due to Better Queensway works, buses that usually use Sutton Road or Southchurch Road will be on diversion after December 8. Buses on service 26 will not serve Stop VQ (Southchurch Road) during this time.

Due to Better Queensway works, Sutton Road will be CLOSED from 04/02/26 until 18/05/26. Buses will NOT serve East Street and Sutton Road and will instead divert via Victoria Avenue. Buses will additionally call at stops VL (to Southend) and VJ/VN (to Canvey) and will NOT serve stops between Southchurch Road and St Mary's Church/Blue Boar. (Depending on traffic, buses will divert via London Road and NOT serve West Road. These buses will serve stops VE/VG instead of VJ/VL)
