Operator Updates for MHR Ireland
Update: The previous issues related to 9AR have been resolved, as the upgrade project for MGX5001 and 5002 has been completed, which included conversion to electric. These buses have arrived at Galway, and will start services on 22/4.
Update: UPDATE -- Thanks to the diligent efforts of depot staff, the replacement vehicle is now available to work 9AR, therefore rendering the capacity warning for 923 void. Thank you for travelling with MHR.
Update: Due to aforementioned cancellations on the 9AR service, there may be large passenger loading on the 923 from 04:00 to 06:00. We apologise for the inconvenience, and ask for your understanding as we resolve these issues.
Update: Due to a major vehicle fault affecting one of the electric buses out of Galway Depot, the route 9AR is having to be operated by a single deck vehicle until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience and are working to send another double deck vehicle as soon as possible. The bus affected, fleet number GXL67, is being dragged to Dublin Cherrywood depot for the necessary maintenance before it will be returned. Update 20/4@22:15 -- We will be attempting to transfer a spare vehicle from the Wexford/Waterford CityLink operations to operate the run tomorrow, and will be attempting to position a hire fleet vehicle in the near future. Update 20/4@22:30 -- Vehicle W629 is now being transferred from Waterford Depot, and will arrive to start the service from 06:00, with some services (01:00-04:00) being worked by a single deck vehicle. Unfortunately, the 04:00 to 06:00 services will have to be cancelled. As an alternative, please take route 923. !! FINAL UPDATE !! 20/4@22:45 -- The 01:00 to 04:00 9AR service will not track correctly, due to the timeframe that we had to sort the trips. It should run to time, however we will notify you if it is delayed. The vehicle transferred is in the MHR CityLink livery with Wexford / Waterford branding, which has a red main colour with a black stripe and details. It will either run with "Special" or "9AR Airporter" on its destination sign. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, and will endeavour to return the bus that caused this all back into service.
Update: Galway Depot is OPEN!! This depot has new, or like-new condition refurbished buses. These buses are to high specification for their interiors, as they run on relatively long routes. The 9AR Airport service runs every 20 minutes from 01:00 to midnight, with a journey time of 9 minutes. The 90, 91 and 9AR are running hybrid double deck vehicles. To coincide with the introduction of the Galway Greens buses, there will be a livery competition which all the schools in the area will be involved in. We hope you have a wonderful journey out of MHR Galway Depot.
Update: The Geely-MHR Hybrid platform test bus has been moved to Dublin, for testing on the DL1 route. Keep an eye out for this special bus wearing a distinctive white, blue and orange/gold paint scheme. It will begin these operations on 2/4/26, and can be tracked at: https://www.mybustimes.cc/operator/mhr-ireland/vehicles/1298455/
Update: Due to a systems error, we are unable to start operations on the DT5 and DL1 today as originally planned. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, and we will endeavour to start these services as soon as possible. UPDATE -- ALL SERVICES TO BEGIN AT 00:00 ON 2/4/26. The operational error has been resolved. For those wondering, it was an error in the timetable provided to us by National Transport Authority that we failed to pick up, causing the allocations to be unable to generate. Note: we are not explicitly blaming the National Transport Authority, as this is something we should've proofread ourselves.
Update: As of 1/4/26, MHR Ireland will begin Dublin CityLink operations, on a multi-million dollar contract with the National Transport Authority. These services run every 6 minutes, every 24 hours. They are all planned to work with new vehicles, or vehicles in like new condition to improve the experience for passengers. All buses on CityLink have USB Ports, Announcements, and spaces for mobility devices such as wheelchairs or bikes. OPNOTE: Timed for 30s dwell, do not selfreg, use extra time for chging
Update: First day of Dublin OuterLink operations today. New Routes: OL1 and OL2. They run every 8 mins from 2am to 11pm. They use NG313F (ZF) articulated buses, so there shouldnt be capacity issues. Update -- 01:54: All vehicles arrived at terminals in preparation for service start. Update -- 02:01: All services started successfully.
